I must have been to New York a dozen times, and if I have one piece of advice, it’s this – look up!
Chicago might have something to say about it I suppose, but the New York skyline is a thing of rare beauty – a many-layered agglomeration of concrete, steel and glass that presents its best face way above head height.
Sure, the streets are buzzy, the bars busy, the traffic crazy, the people crazier – but up, up, up, all is peaceful and harmonious. Stand still somewhere for a minute or two, raise your head and look up at this city in the sky. (Of course, you’ll have to be prepared for – “what you doin’ bud? you crazy? jus’ standing’ there, what the heck”, etc etc.)
