Your next trip? Ghana to Montenegro, via Huddersfield

Bugger of a year, I think we’ll all agree. This is the first time since 1986 that I have not left the country – the UK in my case – which gives me pause for thought and a huge dose of travel wistfulness. Obviously, I’m grateful to be well and relieved that my friends and family have survived unscathed so far. Really, when it comes down to it, there’s not much more you can ask when the world has pretty much gone to hell in a handcart. Complaining about not being able to travel seems a bit inappropriate under the circumstances.

But I do know that, if you’re at all like me, you can’t help yourself. You’ve been looking at holiday websites, checking transport schedules, wondering if there’s anywhere – really anywhere – that you might be able to go. Personally, I have planned an entire train trip to the Balkans and back. Three weeks, out and back, Yorkshire to Albania. Just waiting for the go-ahead, all good to go.

And if you are at all like me, you’ll be wanting some inspiration, so I’ve come up with a seasonal offer for you, my wonderful readers.

Head on over to Smashwords, where I’ve got two deals for you.
